Things I never knew about chickens, etc:

  • Chickens are *very* social animals
  • Chickens make a specific crowing sound after they lay an egg
  • Chickens have pin-point accuracy with their beaks
  • Chickens have killer eyesight
  • Fresh eggs have harder shells than store-bought eggs
  • Chickens eat most every table scrap
  • “Pecking orders” do exist
  • I now understand from where the word “chicken” was derived (they are very nervous around unfamiliar things)
