Based on others I’ve seen built, I created this with 3″ ABS pipe. I already had most of the materials, except the cap and threaded plug, which I bought for under $5 at the Habitat for Humanity Restore<\/a>. The<\/p>\n

I will most likely replace the threaded plug with a cap to help with water proofing. For the bottom I chose an end cap with a removable pipe clamp so it could be easily cleaned.<\/p>\n

Installation:<\/strong>
\nI chose to install the feeder underneath the coop (within the pen) to help keep the food dry and away from deer and other critters. I mounted the feeder on the back side of the coop using a 2×2 and a couple of screws. Underneath, I used a block of redwood 2×4 to brace it for stability. The chickens took right to it.<\/p>\n<\/div>
